UCSB is a partner agency with the Goleta Union School District.

2009 "SBParent.com" 1st Place - Best Camp for 9-12 year olds (see "Downloads")

Who: Boys & Girls ages 8 to 17     

Where: Campus Point, Goleta Beach & UCSB facilities

When: 8:30 am to 1:30 pm (5 hours), Monday to Friday

            Session 2: July 20 to Aug  15 (4 weeks)

Tryout: swim under water 10 yards, tread water 3 minutes; swim 100 yards in 2 minutes 20 seconds. Returning JGs may waive the tryout.

Next tryout/uniform pickup will be THURSDAY JULY 2nd, 3-4 pm @ the UCSB Rec Center.

Applications and uniform items are available at tryouts. Returning 2008 JGs mayREGISTER ONLINE at the www.recreation.ucsb.edu. Click online button in upper right corner. Retrieve family account and verify - you are referenced by your e-mail on file.  Step 2 is to enroll. If you have difficulty then contact us.

TUITION: $340 for Session 2 (4 weeks). VISA and MASTERCARD are accepted. Captains and "added siblings" may apply for a 10% discount ($306). Scholarships are available. Please see document posted to "Downloads." Thank you SANTA BARBARA FOUNDATION and ORFALEA FOUNDATION for your support!  

SAFETY IS OUR HIGHEST PRIORITY!! Instructors receive Red Cross (smooth water) & USLA (open water) Lifeguard training. Some are EMT certified and possess California Teaching Credentials.

Student-Instructor ratio is 20:1.

CURRICULUM: CPR, AED training, First Aid, Smooth and Open Water Lifesaving, and Marine Resource Stewardship. Please see curriculum at Downloads link for more.

FUN: surfing, body boarding, water polo, kayaking, volleyball, swimming, beach games, and special events.
