UCSB is a partner agency with the Goleta Union School District

Who: Boys & Girls ages 8 to 17     

Where: Campus Point, Goleta Beach & UCSB Rec facilities

When: Session 1 = 4 wks, June 23rd-July 18th+Aug. 16th

            Session 2 = 4 wks, July 21st-August 16th

                  Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 1:30 pm; 5 hours per day

Tryout: New candidates must pass a tryout: swim under water 10 yards,

swim 100 yards in under 2:30 (2:40 for age 8-11), & tread water 3 min.

Next tryout is May 16th, 5:15 pm, at UCSB Rec Center. No reservation required.

Free Rookie Week for new students. Dates are June 17th - 20th.

VISA and MASTERCARD are accepted.

Tuition*: $290/$320 = Session 1 or Session 2 (4 weeks)

              $490/$540 for both Sessions (all 8 weeks)

*Tuition discount is available for CAPTAINS and siblings.

SAFETY IS OUR HIGHEST PRIORITY!! Instructors go through Red Cross

 (smooth water) Lifeguard & USLA (open water) Lifeguard training.

Some are also EMT certified and possess California Teaching Credentials..

Typical Student-Instructor ratio is from 15:1 to 20:1.

CURRICULUM: Adult, Pediatric & Infant CPR, AED training, First Aid, Smooth and Open Water Lifesaving, and Marine Resource Stewardship. Please see curriculum at Downloads link for more.

FUN: surfing, body boarding, water polo, kayaking, volleyball, swimming, beach games, and special events.
